What is the best way to get to Apeldoorn?
There are several ways to get from Schiphol Airport to Apeldoorn:
By Train from Schiphol Airport
There is a direct Intercity train every hour, for example, from Schiphol Airport station to Apeldoorn. You can also book a bus from Schiphol Airport to Apeldoorn. Alternatively, ask our organization if other bands are coming by bus and if you can travel with them from Schiphol to Apeldoorn. Our organization knows who is arriving at Schiphol Airport by plane.
By Bus

By Car or Bus
Enter the following address (Berghuizerweg 153, 7312 SN Apeldoorn) into your navigation system and head towards Apeldoorn. You will arrive in Apeldoorn via the A1 motorway and take exit 19 Hoenderloo/Apeldoorn-West N30, then turn right at the exit. Follow Europaweg to the third traffic light, then turn left into Laan van Spitsbergen. After the level crossing, turn left into Pieter de Hoochlaan. At the end of the street, turn left at the fork onto Ordermolenweg. After 200 meters, turn right at the fork towards Berghuizerweg. Then turn left after 200 meters. You have reached your destination. You are at the Victoria Boys football field, where the tattoo will take place in the afternoon.
How is transport arranged during the event?
On 2 and 3 May during the events there are coaches who brings the musicans from the place where you stay to the events and back.
Where will you be staying during the event?
During the days that you participate in the event, the organization will provide a place to stay. This is not entirely clear at the moment, but more clarity will be provided soon. Also check the script (we will send later) for detailed information.
Are there any costs for participating in this event?
The costs associated with this event are for the account of the organization. This includes the accommodation costs and the costs for transportation during the stay.
Meals are provided on Friday evening (hot meal), Saturday morning (breakfast) Saturday afternoon (lunch) Saturday evening (hot meal), Sunday morning (breakfast).
Do bands receive financial compensation for participating?
United Pipers for Peace is a non-profit organization that tries to realize a unique event in Europe costs neutral. It is therefore special to participate as a band. The organization provides housing and care during the event. There is therefore no financial compensation for participation. Travel expenses to and from Apeloorn are at the expense of the participating bands or individual players.
Is there enough parking space for coaches
If you come to Apeldoorn by coach, there is parking available where the bus can park
Are partners of musicians also allowed to come to UPFP?
Given the scale and high costs of the event, as well as the limited space available to us due to the 80th anniversary of liberation, it is unfortunately not possible to accommodate, transport, or provide daily care for the partners of musicians. Should partners still wish to come along, they will need to find accommodation in the Apeldoorn area at their own expense. Unfortunately, the organization of United Pipers For Peace cannot provide for this, and we hope for your understanding

Do we need a B-Flat chanter for playing together?
We can not ask from over 250 pipers to buy a B Flat chanter. So you can use the chanter you normal use. It is only Highland Cathedral we play together with the Band Of The Dutch Royal Military Police.
What tunes are expected to be announced for the concert that are not already on the mandatory list
We have decided to play only Highland Cathedral with the Band Of The Dutch Royal Military Police (in the finale). For the march on (at the opening) and the march off (after the finale), we choose tunes from the list we have put on our website.

Is it the intention that we will also play from our own repertoire?
Yes, there is an opportunity to play your own repertoire during the Taptoe on Friday, Meet the bands on Saturday and during the Street Parade.
Programm

When will the programm be ready?
The program is largely known, but there are still a few final things that need to be coordinated to make the program definitive. The expectation is that the program will be definitive in September.
Will there also be an opportunity to get to know the bands better?
On Friday evening, a social event will be organized with food, drinks, and live music. This evening is only accessible to participating bands and invited guests. Entry is only possible with a provided UPFP wristband.
